Description Just something for Independence day (June 12)

An impression of how a Filipino insurgent officer would have looked from the Philippine Revolution of 1896 to the Filipino-American War (1899-1902)

Officers in the early Filipino army, appear more smartly-dressed than the usual Filipino insurgent. Many also wore the Spanish rayadillo or milraya uniform, but was soon replaced with the Norfolk-inspired design by Juan Luna. The khaki version was later adopted similar to the European and US uniform at the time. Officers and generals often wore white field caps or pith helmets. The main weapon would have been the holstered revolver, secured with a neck lanyard together with an acquired Spanish officer swords, both attached underneath the tunic with an internal belt. ranks oftentimes displayed on the shoulders, with trousers in the colors of a particular unit.
