I was walking down the street today and saw this man lighting up a cigarette... I intended to take it of him lighting up, but then he stopped and looked at me right as I shot the photo. It came out better than I had expected.More at my Web site and blog

it depends. if i want a more formal portrait, i ask, but if not, i never ask. if they notice, i just smile and keep walking.

oh gosh, that's happened to me once. one guy told me he owned verizon and that cameras were watching me, and i'd get "locked the fuck up for pointing that camera in [his] face". hehe. it was intense. he was crazy, so i didn't pay too much mind. and, thankfully, there were a lot of people around.

heh. i dunno where ur from but i live in ny so my only fear is trigger happy cops when im in certain areas. i know downtown theres a lot of federal buildings they are scared of people photographing and they think everyone is a terrorist but i just make sure i know my laws before i go out. hehe. if someone confronts me about it if they are nice about it i'll apoligize and stop but i always get the mean people that want to threaten to arrest me then get mad when i break out my handy dandy photographers rights printout, hand them a copy and continue on my merry way
