I do make my own glazes. Some are minor modifications to popular glaze formulas, others are unique. The post-firing technique (oxidation, reduction, variation of materials, etc.)is what really sets some pieces apart from others.

I like this one better than no. 18. I think it's because of the color scheme, but then again, I personally love redder colors.
Although the top of this jar is greater too; has that Chinese hat flair to it, and I love the metallic look of it.

What is the design inside the red circle on the lid handle? Is that a Chinese character?

Thank you! I am told that the character is 1/2 the Chinese symbol for "Long Life." Not sure whether it's the "Long" part or the "Life" part--Am sure there are Chinese artists laughing at the misuse of the character.
