it originally looked like a bloated hand of death. instead, it is shadows of water.

Tricky flash which overexposed the foreground thus creating a new composition center. And weird colours in the back, loudish blues and reds. I don't know. Cool idea, but what you see is the hand, not water. IMO, of course.

this is a cool concept, but it doesnt really capture the water around the hands well, and bubbles look somewhat fake, probobly because of the adjustment. keep the photo pure and unmodified.

No offence...but I don't like this. I mean, it's a fantastic idea for a shot, but there are some things I'd do differently.
1. Used an inanimate object instead of your hand...the hand just distracts from the beauty of the image
2. Get rid of that logo in the bottom right
3. Get a larger resolution
It's a great concept, but just didn't come out like it should've....sorry.

Amazing! The water almost looks not... real. I love it! That is a great capture, it's so unique and dramatic. Hope you got an A in your photo class for that one because it certainly deserves it! Great job

That's cool...sort of a new approach to these freeze frame water photos. The shadows from the water with the flash makes it look like you have some terrible rash at first...I actually had to look twice to make sure that you actually didn't, hah. Oh well, nice shot.

shutter speed was 1/60
i cheated and adjusted the levels to get the strange color
the dark shadows are an unfortunate but unavoidable (as far as i know) side effect of the flash and the manipulation of the levels.
i could always remove them in photoshop, but then i'd really be cheating, and it was an experimental shot anyways. i'd like to get either some really nice lights so i dont have to use the flash, or a standalone flash so the shadows wouldn't be cast where they are.. well i can always go back and reshoot it when i have more equipment!

OUTSTANDING the front page is just filled with good stuff at the moment. Love the way the flashed stopped those bits of water like that, without any motion blur or anything. Almost looks like some of the CG work you see around here.
