Description I finally got Paint Tool Sai for my laptop and I wanted to give it a quick test-run. The drawing is nothing special so I can focus on the program.

It's really fun! It was no problem at all to emulate the techniques I do on sketchbook pro or ps, in fact, it was easier. Inking and color is much more fun although I didn't really take the time to clean up in this case. But I'm looking forward to trying it out some more when I draw on the computer.

Lovely!  i think it turned out very well. Say, i gotta ask : Do you think making Line-art is Signifficantly easier in SAI?

The unique thing I like about Sai is it's "stabilizer" tool that helps make inking go smoother- both figuratively and literally. It'll still probably depend on the person whether he/she finds it easier or not.

thanks for the tip, i think i might also give sai a try. What i always wanted to do is make Smooth linearts like you and many other artists, Perhaps sai can give me a hand.

This is really nice. Paint Tool Sai is really fun to use. I've been doing all my line art, sketches, and flat coloring with it. I've even tried editing the brushes to coloring with and I might be getting somewhere.

It's an absolute blast. I really like the nice lines you can get from stabilizer.


Do you know any good custom brush/settings that are optimized for sketching or do you just use defaults?

I think I reblogged something on Tumblr where there was a masterpost of Sai brush settings. I think you can search on dA too for them. I can also send you the settings I use if you want. Just let me know if you want to see my settings.
