Weeell, I sketch with HB pencil, then I paint the sketch with watercolours, use white pencil for white markings (like the fish faces and the horns) and white gel pen for highlights. Then I go back over the sketch again with the HB pencil 'cause the watercolour rubs the first one out a bit C:

Why are white tipped scales so hard to paint? Is it just the scale of the piece?
Speaking of moths, I had a really big one flap its way into the bathroom and frantically flit about trying to get out while I was in the bath. I nearly had a heart attack!
Anyway... Pictureteimz.. xD I really like this! You always use such amazing colours in your pieces, I love it! The shading is fabulous as ever - I really like the rainbowy background, all the colours are ace <3 I love that little bubble too, the big one that stands out to the bottom left of the picture.. you paint bubbles so well 
Overall, I really love this piece! x)

Because I build up colour layers without too much care, but for small white areas I have to be careful not to paint over them. They usually end up messy
