Description While browsing around in my first External Hard Drive I came across one of the many shots
I took of Minneapolis's skyline while we attended a college graduation of a friend ~ on the tenth and penthouse floor of her
parents' high rise, on the edge of the city. No windows to shoot through...nice. Lightning far enough away to be 'safe.'
Darned, if this photo doesn't bring to mind that sunny day in Minneapolis (and New York), when they hit the twin towers on 9/11

It was clearly a wondrous night! One that I shall never forget.
When photos are developing all around me, I experience a type of
excitement that is difficult to define. Far and away better than
Xmas morning ~ even as a kid!!
Thanks for writing, Tricia....
Enjoy your weekend.....dick

Yeah. Those lamp posts seem to be constructed to withstand a whole
lot of bending. We're quite used to highway problems when we get
blizzards, but it's really been the East Coast of the US that has suffered
through several huge snow storms. Lots of human carnage on highways,
not to mention hundreds and hundreds of highway crashes ~ people
just do NOT slow down. Those trucks in your YTube video seemed to
be going too fast!!!
THANKS so much...
We're having a mild winter compared to last year....by far!!!

Yes those snowstorms sound horrendous....!!!!I'm surprised our lights were so good in the wind...we don't get snow storms with winds very often....Mostly winds and rain!!!Glad Β your winter isn't as bad as last year!!!
Just watching the next Β Mr Selfridge...It's getting darker

I'm not 100% clear on what you mean by ..."Our lights were so good in the wind."
Meaning: The Light Poles in the streets were not blown down? That's what I think you
mean.Β  Is 'Mr Selfridge' getting "DARKER."? I found the series " The Paradise to
be quite a bit more DARK than 'Mr Selfridge.'

Oh ...not our local street ones...just the motorway ones. Our road ones are Victorian...and very heavy........We do have a few new ones at Β intervals along the road...not as beautiful as the Victorian ones!!youtu.be/UXZVqSywIqw

THANK you Tricia. A beautiful story, that one.
That's one thing I love about the English culture:
They revere the past...and make every effort to
restore it, to whatever extent possible. I'm fairly
sure we'd just throw the darn things out and put
in a more modern lamp...and probably save a bit
of $...but NOT SAVE the past, and its charms!!!

Excellent piece....thanks again!

You're welcome Dick!!!I hate it when they knock old things down...unless of course it was a rubbish build anyway....We are loving our saved 1930's cinema!!Everybody who did things in it were volunteers from workmen to cleaners...It now has shows on stage as well as films and a super 1930's restaurant .

I do think you're referring to the glass windows in the BUILDINGS.
I, fortunately, did not have to shoot through glass, as I explain in my notes.
THANKS for your comments, FAVE, and having written me!!!

That particular night was sheer magic...unfolding before my eyes.

I may be in and out for the next week or so

The bear has gone down hardSaturday, February 7
On Monday, February 2, 2015, I was sparking the studio at the beginning of the shift. One of the lights blew out. As I was pulling the ladder out to change the light, a nearly full roll of tape fell from where it had been left at the top of the ladder. No one was in the studio at that time with the exception of me.
As I would later learn, I had a gash in my neck approximately 1” X 3/4”
I told Jeremy, He replied that he would talk to mornings and get them to be more careful.
I also told Walt, Dave and Alex.
By the end of shift the wound was showing definite signs of infection, bright red color, tender to touch, pussy discharge.Β
Tuesday, February 3, The area around the wound was discolored yellow like a bruise coming to the surface. I noticed a large hard knot about as big as both my fists put together.
I was in a lot of pain and that shift was very rough on me. I told Jeremy, Walt, Dave and Marcus.
