This reminds me of my mother, but we would be living in England here, which makes no sense, but it feels like home.

to know that pieces fit certainly helps to find your way, but no guarantee

Very few guarantees in this world. The in my kitchen will be worth drinking, there's one.

I wouldn't call this exactly bad news

I always grind it fresh. When I have time, I roast the green beans myself. I'm kind of obsessed with good coffee.

Worse obsessions I can think of

RichardLeach In reply to EintoeRn [2010-03-29 19:59:14 +0000 UTC]

Ha, yes, not too bad as obsessions go - maybe that's the key to obsessions - having ones that don't do any harm

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

EintoeRn In reply to RichardLeach [2010-03-29 20:01:37 +0000 UTC]

no, when you control them they are no obsessions any more ....

RichardLeach In reply to EintoeRn [2010-03-29 20:11:24 +0000 UTC]

hey - I like that - I get it - you control them, they don't control you! Nicely said!

Do the pieces fit?
I know the pieces fit.
Do the pieces fit?
I know the pieces fit.
Do the pieces fit?
I put 'em in,
I put 'em out
I put 'em upside
I put 'em downside
I put 'em to size
Do the pieces fit?
Yes, the pieces fit
I work 'em 'til I know they do-
The Pieces Fit.

I'm fitting those pieces night and day,
call it work or call it play.
I'm fitting those pieces night and day,
fit those pieces till they take me away.

this is awesome Tink, love it!!!

P.S : can i have the bigger size file? about 10x10 cm? i'm gonna put all the collaborations on one deviation!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RichardLeach In reply to goatheadcorp [2010-03-22 12:53:45 +0000 UTC]

very glad you like it, my friend!

the dA upload screen had some kind of glitch this morning - the current download is 900 pixels by 900 pixels - can you tell me how big you want the image in pixels? i'll give you any size download you want.

(i scanned an 18.5 cm square image at 300 dpi, so the download can be enormous if you want it to be.)

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

goatheadcorp In reply to RichardLeach [2010-03-22 13:06:19 +0000 UTC]

thats a great piece!

hmm..i got it about 7x7cm, maybe if you upload it about 1500x1500 it would be better. if in the end theres many participants, i'll put all on one deviation (A3 size) so the participants can have the file for their own (me personally want to print it for my own)

thanks for the time to make this piece, love it

RichardLeach In reply to goatheadcorp [2010-03-22 13:37:55 +0000 UTC]

yes they do, perfectly!

i love the "traditional" look you gave it.

i think the original one stands well for itself too. i downloaded it to try and do something, but never found the time and inspiration.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RichardLeach In reply to TheCollagist [2010-03-22 12:44:12 +0000 UTC]

aw, thanks! it was fun to go more traditional in this one.

yes, the original one is very good - stands alone and very nice for adding to.

collaborations are daunting at first. i stared at this for quite a while. that wood paneling =fredfree gave me got me started.
