Description
One of the best villains in gaming, Clockwerk lived hundreds of years on pure hate and bodily modifications. A cold heart of HATE!I've been playing Sly 2 again, and noticed that between the gameplay and the cutscenes, the Clockwerk parts seem to change size. It gave me the impression that maybe Clockwerk wasn't as giant as we know him. So I decided to draw my idea of how he would look as flesh and bone. Based on Sly 3 he probably ran into the Cooper Clan in 1300 BC with Slytankhamen II, thus the robes.
This is just a rough sketch, I'm sure I will or someone will come up with something better.

He also appeared in sly 4 thieves in time as an easteregg. In the game he was seen in the cave man era.

As well as one of his eye parts appeared as a collectible item.
And the Dragon Claw statue had the words "CLOCKWERK WAS HERE" scratched in the bottom of it, suggesting that he had stolen it at one point.

What colors were you thinking for the robe you drew for him? I was thinking of the colors from his silhouette, but that's your call.

Well, we now know that Clockwerk existed as a robotic death machine, watching and waiting, in 10,000 BC!!! The mind reels.

Given that virtually every other character in the series is anthropomorphic, it makes sense that Clockwerk would be, as well. It also makes sense that his final, fully-mechanized form would be of a feral owl, since he had become consumed with a desire to hunt and destroy the Coopers. He would end up making himself a lethal, stealthy killing machine, i.e. a huge feral owl.
As for why he was shown in the flashbacks as being a feral-shaped owl before his "upgrades", remember that the story is being narrated by Sly, who has only ever seen Clockwerk in his final state, so that was likely just how he imagined Clockwerk might have looked.

Well I've seen the new Sly game and some evidence that perhaps Clockwerk was always a feral owl, driven by hatred through the centuries. Still it's a fun idea and the fact they are eluding to any answers just makes it more dark and mysterious. Probably best it remain that way.

Actually Clockwerk was an anthropomorphic owl in the series, in the Sly 2 intro, you see him being a giant Eurasian eagle owl that replaces his body parts with mechanical ones.

That wasn't antro. For one, no clothes. Even Bently wears a bow tie in the first game. Second, no distinguishing humanized limbs, just a big bird.

According to Sly 2 cutscenes Clockwerk was a giant eurasian eagle owl, nothing like this picture. But it's cool anyway.

i find it funny that for something that is 'emortal' he can be killed with a shock pistol a jetpack and a cane

He's immortal in the sense that he doesn't age, feel pain or hunger, and that he isn't defined as a living being rather than existing. As for the shock pistol and what not it caused enough damage to make an opening in his armor so as to further damage him.

This is a very, VERY interesting idea! I've always wondered what Clockwerk looked like when he was still alive. His story itself is quite open for interpretation, and compelling for the great villain he was.
There may be a very good chance that we'll get to see him from much sooner in history, in Sly 4 if the game does indeed revolve around Bentley's time machine.
