For situations where you need every frontliner to be an unstoppable wall of light and noble willpower"

Wish i fleshed these guys out a bit more, they started as a rip-off of the Adeptus Astartes, but have since become far more unique in style, sadly not in terms of lore. I wish super-soldiers weren't so run-of-the-mill nowadays, but i'll come up with good background lore eventually, until then they are effectively slave-soldiers in a way with the way they are bred for war and mentally conditioned to be complete Imperial loyalists. Considering I do indeed have a thing for making my people very tall each Star-Knight is about 2.3 metres tall, and each star-knight legion has different demands of it's recruits, with all-male and all-female legions not being unheard of.

Ballistic Rifle- A high-velocity firearm that ejects magneticall-accelerated bullets, still technically a rifle due to the rifling at the base of the barrel. it is very effective against energy-shielding and heavy armour, but the downside is it's small magazine-size and the weight of carrying additional ammunition. it boasts an auto-load system as well that can eject a current magazine and automatically inject the next, making reloading as easy as placing a piece of metal in a socket.

Ion-Pulse projectors- With a devastating effect on flesh, Ion-pulse projectors are rifle-sized energy weapons that propell highly-energized pulses of gas at blurring speeds, devastating against flesh and medium armour, but practically blocked by even the most basic of shielding. They have a very high ammunition capacity, making them favoured for long-term engagements.

Hardlight-shield- A central, bullet-proof module that, when activated, creates a circular containmentfield that is then filled up with rapidly moving energy-particles. These particles will deflect projectiles and objects that are propelled at high speed, meaning that a firearm's barrel can still be pushed through it and fired from the safety of the transparent yellow shield.

Separator Sword- using a similar field-projection technology to the hardlight-shield, the separator-sword's containment field is instead filled with a layer of tachyon-particles that, upon activation turn the blade into a devastating anti-armour weapon, cutting through metal as if it were aluminium-foil. Separator-Swords are rare outside the star-knight legions, due to the specific knowledge required to maintain these horrid blades, as even a single malfunctioning in the tachyon-coil can cause the blade to destroy itsself or become unstable.

Discharge-Sword- Wielded in one hand the Imperial Discharge-sword can vary in design, this particulary example lacks a point and is used more for slashing. The weapon on it's own is a capable sword, easily able to smash through any Earth-made sword due to it's sturdy metallurgy. However, the true strength of the blade lies in the purpose of it's nanite-battery. The sword boasts a small "trigger" so to speak on it's side that fits into the grip of the wielder. The sword is swung against the enemy, and doesn't have to penetrate the armour, shield or otherwise, merely land a slight bit in it. At this point the trigger is pulled and the battery creates an ionized discharge field, which will multiply the damage done to the target even if only grazed.

A direct armour-penetration from this sword, followed by a discharge typically results in being sliced in half or inflicting gruesome wounds. The downside to this type of energy-propelled weapon is perhaps it's high maintenance and the few seconds of energy-build up required for a proper discharge, as such it's at a disadvantage when used against a faster-striking weapon.
