...Eep. I bet if she got her memories back in game, she'd have a few rapid-fire flashbacks showing Samson as a complete monster (one of the old storylines had him-
(Insert Blaring Klaxons) SPOILER ALERT, SPOILER ALERT!!! DON'T READ IF YOU DON'T WANT TO RISK SPOILERS OF THE OLD STORYLINES BEING CANNON. SPOILER ALERT, SPOILER ALERT!!!
-had him FREAKING eat her parents! And on top of that, he MINDWIPED her, and is actively manipulating her into becoming the new Skullgirl!!!), before culminating with this image, with Filia screaming in horror as the picture fades to black...
Granted, Samson's in-game actions seem to show him genuinely caring for Filia, so it's hard to see how it would match up with the unabashed dickishness in the old plot: perhaps he started out as evil, but quickly regretted what he did? Or maybe he only did what he did in a drunken stupor (one of Filia's dislikes is getting drunk when Samson drinks, so I think he's at least a minor alcoholic). If so, this would still serve to drive a wedge between the two, and one that won't be easily fixed.

Yeah, I know. Samson is pretty wicked, and yet Filia has to rely on him for her special powers, despite all the horrible things he's done and is doing to her. In a sense, that demon is both helping her and hurting her at the same time.
Though I think Samson's only somewhat caring for her because she's such a good host body for him, and he just wants his human vessel to stay well, well as well as he needs (like he doesn't want her to get killed, and therefore ruin everything for her, and perhaps finding another human to fuse with that is as good and suitable as Filia would not be very easy). That's my view on it.

Is this taking into account the "Samson" DLC character - which is essentially Samson being the complete monster he was in his original story? The fact that the DLC Samson is either an alternate-timeline version of the real Samson or some evil knock-off created by Double only raises even more questions about both versions of Samson - the most important being, what fundamental moral difference lies between the two? What separates the "true" Samson from being the complete monster the DLC Samson is? Is he being practical (in case Filia tries to overpower him when she learns the truth), or does he genuinely want to redeem himself for his crimes? For that matter, does this even take into account his old story being cannon at all, meaning he never was a bad guy to begin with?

I saw that Samson might be a future DLC character too, though he will probably be released much later on, since he wasn't picked in the vote.

Maybe the DLC character Samson will be having an evil storyline to him, like him trying to kill most of the good guys in the story or something like that. I mean other DLC characters on that list were villains tii, such as Brain Drain, and that doesn't necessarily mean they were still good at times or will be having a heroic story.

I also noticed that this other Samson has a different girl attached to him. Maybe this would be on a storyline where he finds an even better girl to fuse with and ditches Filia in exchange for her, then decides to search for a way to become more powerful without having to rely on humans, probably by finding the Skull Heart and wishing for that. Who knows?

I was talking more about the "real" Samson as opposed to the DLC Samson when I went on that whole morality spiel - I definitely agree that the DLC Samson's story-mode would be more overtly villainous. And it's DEFINITELY Filia (or some illusion of Filia, if the "evil knock-off made by Double" theory is true) that the DLC Samson is using: look at his picture here: [link]
