This Is my fist attempt drawing Mohatu

In my headcanon he Is Ahadi's father. He Is the oldest of three cubs, the chosen one to become the next king of the pride lands, his father Mpenzi, wich was married to Takatifu, was originally a soldier from a hostile pride, where the great animals (elephants, rhinos and buffalos) were constantly attacking predators, so those lions had to be trained by "the general" to survive those attacks, in that pride the famine in lions and leopards it was very common since whenever they were seen hunting they were attacked by the aforementioned animals. He always had the feeling for his old pride, so he raised his cubs In a very strict way, just like he was shown as cub, specially Mohatu, which his father expected to be the strongest lion that ever lived, he couldn't enjoy his childhood because he always had to train tactical movements and many survival lessons, the trainings were very tiring for him, to such a degree that he rested very little and even caused him stress and depression, the only happy memory that had as cub was the times he saw his best friend Alika, a sweet lioness cub with which he could vent his worries.

As a young adult Mohatu was ready to become that lion that his father expected, but despite being physically ready, mentally he was very afraid of disappointing his father, He hated the idea of knowing that the lives of thousands of animals were in his hands, all he wanted was to have a normal life. The trainings were finally over and Mohatu just wanted to be alone, he slept all day and was always quiet, but his calm It did not last long, since after a few days a lion from another land declared war on the pridelands, both Mohatu and all the lions that inhabited the kingdom had to get ready to fight, after a long journey they had finally arrived to the battlefield, Mohatu had displayed impressive tactics, killing almost everyone who stalked him, but his victory couldn't last, since one day he had to face two lions who were more experienced than him that attacked him at the same time, leaving him very badly injured and almost dying, that day almost all the soldiers of the pridelands had died at the hands of the other lions, even the members of the lion guard of that time they could not fight the battle and the survivors, being very few, had to get away.

Mohatu was rescued by a young elephant named Udaka, he had healed his wounds and saved him from death, Udaka had found Mohatu at midnight, his family and him were getting back home when they saw lots of lion bodies laying on the floor, he and his family only could rescue four lions, including Mohatu, the other ones were already dead.

Mohatu despite being grateful to Udaka, he didn't want to be saved at all, he though it was better for him to die there, the place were he was defeated, but deep inside he knew that he had to go back to the pride lands, he was planning to leave, but he found in his path some animals in need, they were thirsty, hungry and some even were sad and feeling the same feelings of a meaningless life that Mohatu had, he had to help every animal he found, as time passed those animals were finally trusting Mohatu, they were trusting a lion after years, Mohatu himself had finally learned that a true king Is not distinguished by his strength, his fighting moves or his coldness, but by his empathy and desire to see others get prosperous and happy, he was finally in peace with himself and finally wanted to be a king like he was intended to be, despite the fact that all those animals were happy and already had a stable life, they were still hungry and thirsty, since the place where they ate and drank, which Mohatu had found, did not belong to them, and was far from their homes, so Mohatu purposed them to come with him to the pridelands, he told them they would never be hungry and thirsty again, they all accepted his proposal and went with him.

Mohatu was finally home, he had returned to the pridelands, when his father saw him, he recieved him with joy and said to him "I'm so proud of you my son, you are a true king" Mohatu was confused, he though the war was won by the other pride, but Mpenzi explained his son that he had fought himself the other lions, and that made the ones that were left go away, he explained that he though he had lost his son, and that pain and rage made him more ruthless to finish them, Mpenzi apologized with his son for not treating him the way he wanted , he said to him that he just wanted the best for his son, Mohatu had forgiven his father and made peace with him, when Mpenzi's time came to end in this world, Mohatu finally became the king of the pridelands, taking with him all the good things he learned from both his father and the animals he helped, he had married his childhood friend Alika and had three cubs

Mohatu was a very strong and powerful lion, But, despite that since he went back to the pridelands, he never fought again, because he had a great ability to solve problems by talking and negotiating, he had shown to his father that brute strenght was not all a king needed to be great, his love and mercy, his empathy and putting the lives of others before his own had been the key that lead Mohatu to be known as the wisest and most loving ruller who ver lived

He became the sixth king of the pridelands, i don't know why people think he was the first king of the pridelands, the fact that he's the most ancient king known in the pride rock royal lineage doesn't make him the first king, i will be talking about this topic more in depth later
