This was a long flight for this little gryphon. He started his flight 5 years ago and today he finally reached his destiny. Caring a magical ball of... something to... somebody... He can finally rest and receive his prise
I can say this is a collab between me and . It was her old sketch she started in 2006. She drew only the head of the gryphon and some lines. A few months ago I found this in her portfolio and asked her could I finish it. And so here we have it! My finish of this cute drawing. I tried to simulate her style in traditional art but it's hard to be as good as a master xD.
This was quite hard. As usually I tried to draw something that's just to difficult to me and I'm not sure with the result. The wings were a nightmare with my intention to draw them with a perspective shortness. I've also wanted to draw soft clouds emerging behind the rocks covering the trees in the background but it probably doesn't look good. It's hard to do this without colors. At least I tried...

Udany collab. Trochę powiększyłabym mu klatkę piersiową, ale poza tym wyszło super (zwłaszcza skrzydła). Delikatnie zaznaczone tło dodaje rysunkowi głębi.

You call this "a nightmare" to do? THAT will not do at all. Nothing even looks remotley bad. In fact, it looks amazing! Beautiful job!

"nightmare" meaning "difficult to draw". There were about 6 approaches on drawing those wings

Interesting it took a journey of five years that sphere she is holding must be quite precious in her claws, like the ties of friendship or like that. I have to say though for all being done in pencils it is full of details and texture, as I guess the paper you used is special in that it keeps from smudging. Even its background is well set to depth as it shows just how high in the mountain ridge the gryphon is on, as compared to the forest valley below, nice and intricate, and done very well.

About the paper. In fact it is a special paper. Red-Izak has bought it from USA and it's some good quality paper for drawings. The only problem was that the 5 years old pencil stains were impossible to erase.

nie wnikam, ani nie zamierzam. Ize widac w tym rysunku bardzo, szczegolnie przód gryfa- łeb, łapy, sposób ich ulozenia. Zarys skrzydeł też znajomy. Tył jest jakby inny, Iza inaczej jakoś zaznacza łapy tak na moje oko. Tło odbiega jakością jakoś od reszty. Niach, niach ;>
Mogę się oczywiście mylić co do wniosków, ale jak już wspomniałam: ciut gorszy rysunek Kaszuby ;D
