Thank you!
I usually use lightfast substitutes for alizarin for a (relatively) warmer red and quinacridone rose for a vary cool red. I think I have never used any warm reds in actual paintings. Which ones are yours?

Great choices. To be honest I haven't explored much with my reds because the other alternatives are not frequently available in my area and are very costly online. I use Scarlet Red and Crimson Lake. They have served me well so far.Although I cant make a very bright pink or rose with it.

Nice for portraits!
It was the same when I lived in Moscow: there was one decent local manufacturer with a limited palette and almost no imported paints. I sometimes recognize Russian illustrations solely by their palette.

Whoa!
That's certainly a very passionate impression of a wild fire raging in a pine forest located on the other side of a lake.
It's hard for me to say whether this painting is warm or cold since it depicts a scene of chaos with such lively colours.
Maybe it's the duality between the elements of water and fire: while the first sustains life, the other consumes it.
Neat work nonetheless, Maya!
