Thanks, glad it grabs you. The original colour 6 x 7 transparency is in the SCRAPS bin if you wish to see it. Even when I shot nothing but film, I still converted them to B&W.

Have you ever travelled to the slot canyons, Antelope in particular. Is it possible to visit the canyons during the winter?
I absolutely believe that Utah is the craziest state in America. I commented the first time I was through that "they were on acid, when they designed Utah" And I believe it. I have to spend more time in Zion... Do you have any favs?
I will be travelling into Breckenridge this winter for a snowsculpting competition, and may venture further West... Will have to wait and see how things work out. This trip I look forward to, I have not been in the mountains in the winter, or WORKING HARD at that elevation. Should be interesting. Later. D

ive been through some of the slot canyons, which was a bit sketchy due to some incoming storms. and yes, utah is very pretty, don't have any specific favorite to speak of... st. george and moab = amazing, im not quite sure where everything is specifically, as i was younger when i was there, but definitely worth a visit. not sure whether winter would affect it or not... *shrug*

Wow. Thatis not only an incredible shot but a lucky one as well. The way the Sundog came out in the black and white is beautiful, and the image gives you a feeling of openness at the top.... I have no clue how to explain what I mean by that but it is a good thing ^_^'''
On a random side note it looks like you are behind an eye and the tree would be like viens in the eye.

AND I CAN RELATE TO THE BLOODSHOT EYE... Thanks for the comments and I can address each one here. Originally, this shot was done in colour. I shoot mostly B&W, and even when heading to the SOUTHWEST, I took mostly B&W film. Until I ran out this very morning. So I have no issues scanning Colour to mono. It was kind of amazing to have a 360 degree rainbow follow me around all morning, through noon and into midafternoon.
The November Downpour came out of spontenaity (EXCUSE THE SPELLING) Digital technology made this shot possible as I was struggling with sleep, while commuting and this whole idea made my journey safe. Finding the exposure was no issue, by using the histogram on the camera. Then it was just a matter of setting an appropriate exposure and timing the intersections. Check out the green streak. It was an intersection in the distance and moves towards you as I approach the lights. Upwards and to the left. I was surprised too. The barn I have returned to many times and have not been able to reproduce the lighting. I will go back next July, That is when the shot was taken. New goats? Possibly a nubile young lady... This one I have to plan. I will keep an eye open for you and your work.
Thanks again. Doug

What is a Sundog?

A sundog is like a rainbow. The moisture in the atmosphere is so fine, and when the sun is uninhibited, as in this photo, not a cloud in sight. The rainbow has no end. The same kind of phenomena happens to the full moon when it about to rain. You can see this circle around the moon and the closer it is, the more likely rain will move in.

wow..that sundog thing is AMAZING!!..thanks!
and for the feature deviation, on your main page, look to the top right of it, and there will be three links to click...click the one that says "Profile"...once you are in there,, there will be three more tabs to the top left...click the middle one, and on there you will see a section for your feature deviation...I hope that works..if you need more help. just let me know!
