Description
Hoplite, whose name is lost to all - even himself - was once a normal Greek soldier. Following a near death experience on the battlefield the Witch-Goddess Hecate appeared to him, brought on by a desperate prayer for help. She promised him a return to health, and the powers to fight and defend Greece and the innocent. As true to her promise, the soldier quickly returned to health, finding that he was immensely strong and durable he ended the battle. He soon discovered that he could also fly, and following what surely would have been a fatal wound, was practically immortal.

He fought on as an elite soldier, making the army a force to be reckoned with, having a god fight for them. He would eventually recede into obscurity however, only coming into the public eye in acts of heroism, saving people from disasters and villains - notably his encounters with his creator, Hecate.

He eventually emerged from hiding during the 1920's using his powers in war once again. Armed with a sword and spear the Hoplite has defended Greece and the world from evil for hundreds of years - and presumably hundreds more.

He is a member of the Command, serving as a representative of Greece, lending his immense power and keen strategic mind to the team.
