Sehr güt, Riguel! I have to tell you right away that this picture has to be one of my all-time favorites of yours, which is saying a lot when one considers your vast (& ever-growing) “army” of Beautiful Babes, military maidens, resplendent in their uniforms,, in varying degrees of undress...
Part of the reason why I appreciate your work so much is that you pay such close attention to detail regarding their uniforms and the variety of vehicles, aircraft & weapons that they are typically displayed with. Plus, it’s not like they are really “posing” with said equipment, really, it’s more like they look they are actually using this gear, that they actually know how to “field strip” that MP-40 or that there is grease under their fingernails because they have working on that engine for the last couple of hours, trying to determine why the pistons start to backfire whenever they try to push it past 340 mph...
I think that that is a huge part of why your work “reaches out to me” (& probably many others of your many fans) Most of your pictures don’t look “staged”, like the person is “posing for the camera”, but more like they are “snapshots” of the person’s actual life, briefly caught “on camera” by one of their fellow crew members and/or colleagues, caught with their “pants down”, during an unguarded moment... Like they are living, breathing human beings, each with their own life story, complete with their own fears, foibles & frailties, just like any other, but also a completely different than any other, because, of course, no one else has the same stories., because each one of us is an individual., and has their own unique perspective., their own unique life story...
Speaking of their own unique story, with this particular image, I find myself completely drawn in (bad pun not intended) to her, her radiating energy, her eyes, her posture, the way she stands, head high, once again, a warrior woman, standing tall, with an inner strength that radiates, throbbing in seismic waves... But, then, one also discerns, a profound sadness that she is trying with keep to herself, a sadness that has been with her a very long time, just aching, nay, wailing to be expressed, in some manner, before she drowns in the deep, ebony sea of profound grief and sadness. Perhaps she and her family are from the devastated city of Hamburg?
