Glad you found it useful! ;v;/
I do all my lineart on a normal layer. The Linework layer mode is so you can edit lines by "dragging" them, as well as changing their size and that like vectors, but because of that it gives you a little less control over them when drawing them with your tablet. Imo it's more useful only when you're doing stuff like background which require a lot of straight lines or if you're using a mouse, otherwise I find normal layers the best for character lines.

I have a question: If I want to move only a little part and use the selection tool for this, can I also move the clipped layers with it? I tried it out but it doesn't work... I think I'm doing something wrong :'D

Not that I know of, sadly ;v; I want this to be an option too since it'd bee so useful sometimes haha, but I couldn't find a way to do it yet

i dont print much of my art, so im not totally sure if this question is relevant, but;
would you recommend setting the canvas size by cm or by pixels? does it make much difference?
im sorry ive never thought about this until you mentioned it in this tutorial! now im really curious~
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
rimuu In reply to Mandy200 [2017-10-02 16:14:16 +0000 UTC]
It makes zero difference if the size of the canvas ends up being the same. If you're not going to print, setting it on pixels is easier imo, since that way you only chose one thing (the size in pixels) instead of two things (the size in cm and resolution).

Okey, pixels don't give quality, so if i make a canvas qith the size in pixels, after finishing the drawing i have to change to cm no?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
rimuu In reply to K-armen [2017-10-01 13:27:09 +0000 UTC]
Using cm or inches for canvas sizes is only relevant if you're going to print it. You don't actually "change" the canvas' size from pixels to cm or inches or anything like that, the size is always the same, pixels/cm/inches are just different measurement units to measure the same thing. It's like measuring a physical object in cm and then in inches, it changes nothing of the object, but there are still several measurement units you can use since sometimes you're more familiar with one or the other.
So no, after finishing the drawing, nothing you can do will make the quality better than it already is. Changing it to cm will only change how the size measurement shows to you, not the actual size.
Hope that made some sense!

Okey, thanks!
I work with pixels, and maybe i print some things, but i still need to learn a bit more about this, so i'll keep working with that

yesssssss. Seriously, thank you for this. This whole time, I've had this idea that more dpi on pixels = better quality and I'm so done. lol
Thank you for debunking that idea for me. I love this! Your efforts have not gone to waste!

The gray squares thing? Nothing special, I just made an square in black and some opacity, then copy pasted it a few times with different opacities and made a pattern out of it. No idea if there's a quicker way to do it lol
