Ah, yes, the expression has it all XD (Besides I'm still quite dissatisfied with their father's behaviour: in the end Inu Yasha was the one to get both swords. Even knowing he's just a halfbreed and that Sesshoumaru developed the power on his own, it feels unfair anyway. *A* )

Yet somehow we don't really know much on how he treated his first family. I mean, what we saw is mostly when he asked Sesshoumaru why the latter needed power. But not a hint on whether he ever tried to teach or guide him while alive. That makes me wonder what kind of father he was..

Ya, that part of we didn't really know how he treated Lady mother and young Sesshoumaru leave us a lot of question marks. For sure is, Sesshoumaru is cold and it has to do with his childhood life. FOR SURE!

Ya, I agreed with the arrange marriage idea like you said. How sad that because of them chasing the pure breed hire, Sesshoumaru is the victim. Judging at lady mother's attitude. She seems ok and happy about everything. That's why sometime I wonder if she is ever sad. Because I believe no woman would loves to share the husband, arrange marriage or not. So I was thinking if she ever feel sad over the Izayoi's case. Maybe I think too much LOL

Well, 'sad' maybe is not quite the right word. I guess she might've been something like both enraged and humiliated when her husband preferred a mortal woman to her, even if she'd never been in love with Inu taishou. That's only natural. So Sesshoumaru's distate for humans is kinnda.. understandible. At least I can see where it could've been rooted.

Mm.. she gives me the impression of logical and composed person, so she'd probably won't let sadness show even if she felt any. Anger - for sure, but sadness... It would've been as if saying 'Hey, I admit he had hurt me badly'.
And for sure that wasn't a healthy atmosphere for their first-born even though he seemed to be something like a teenager according to his looks in the flashback.
