How did you get such a thick wig? i have a very thin second hand synthetic wig that is long, but as I said thin. What do you suggest. Do you know any wigs inbetween $0-$15 that would be good?

Mine is handmade from ALOT of kanekalon fiber jumbo braids and a matching blonde wig as a base.
Unfortunately I've never seen any for sale that I can recommend for thickness. For most of my costumes I end up adding extra hair to the wigs I purchase cause I really like the full look it gives. Jumbo braids usually cost around 3-5 dollars each. (it took 16 of them for this wig) my favorite place to buy them is [link]
you can sometimes find some long wigs of decent quality on ebay for around 20 (occasionally cheaper if you get lucky) Its a little tricky to tell which wigs on ebay are good quality by the photos but usually if it says the wig is made of heat resistant fiber its decent quality.

Hey Ringo-Chu, Just returned from a Disney Cruise. Saw Rapunzel in a play and I am certain that your wigs look better than the one they used. Thought you'd like to know.

Had a great time on the cruise. Lots of different, tasty food. Had to be careful not to eat too much. Glad I went, but not in a hurry to cruise again.
'Punzy never showed up for autographs, which was surprising. since she's the latest and greatest Princess. Saw her in a show.
What's new with you?

Read a few of them. Thought it was interesting how your CosPlay Rapunzel was tied in with your life. Makes me wonder about Mr. Flynn's motivation.

I think its best to choose characters you can relate to when cosplaying. I'm not entirely sure i understand what you mean about his motivation :/

By motivation I mean how does he relate to Flynn?
Guess what, today's my b-day. You can say happy birthday to me again in four years.
Thought of another Rapunzel skit while watching some bicyclists. Imagine this as a silent movie.
R has her hair piled on top of her head.
Flynn says (sign pops up) to Rapunzel, Let's go for a bike ride.
R, acts excited and they head out the door.
F, Wait, safety first and produces two helmets.
R puts the helmet on top, which looks funny
Cut to R rearranging her hair so a helmet will fit. Picture hugh Princess Lea buns, etc
They finally find a do that works, head outside, and the tires are flat.
Never said it was a masterpiece, but Laural and Hardy would have liked it.

i've worn mine to several conventions and photos shoots and its help up very well. I wouldnt recommend doing anything like rolling around in the grass or any other wild activities while wearing it. Just like any wig care needs to be taken with it but really I find it easier to take care of than most of my other wigs. The fact that its in a braid keeps it from ever becoming tangled up. I have sprayed it with a layer of very strong hair spray to help prevent little fly away hairs. Also please keep in mind that its pretty heavy. mine is about 5 pounds of hair. I wont lie to you it isn't the most comfortable wig ever...I put a small piece of foam at my hairline above my forehead when i wear it for extended periods of time (like when i'm at a con for 12 hours or so) to keep its weight from digging into my head. It definitely makes it more comfy. The braid is pretty massive and it takes a bit of practice to figure out how to maneuver around in it.

'Punzy means long hair. I like your wig because it actually looks full. Not a few strands 20' long. Is it possible to purchase 75' tresses not in a wig? Years ago I read a Smithsonian magazine article about the history of hair/wigs. There was a photo of hair(?) being manufactured in long strands that had to be at least 20' (Probably longer, but there wasn't a reference to accurately judge length). Of course, someone would have to sew the wig together.
Have you considered working in a community theater or dinner theater? Try [link] for a federal job. It'll take them forever to make a job offer. There's also the military. You seem to know how to use a computer so you probably wouldn't wind up driving a truck. I use to work with a bunch of navy-folk and was impressed by (most) of them. The air force were pretty good too.
Just noticed you have the same birthday as my youngest daughter. She's a 2000 model.

I bet that when they make the hair its very long at fist and then they cut it down to a more practical size for people to buy. I have seen some wigs that are a bit longer then floor length but they always look very thin.
I'm trying to get a job at a local ceramics studio at the moment. I think I'd like a truck driving job actually ^_^ it doesn't appeal to alot of people but I like the whole "freedom of the open road" Idea. My dad used to drive truck for...I believe it was the Swift company. It paid pretty well and he got to see alot of places. I got to go with him a couple times, it was a really fun experience.

Good luck in the job. I wasn't trying to dis truck drivers. Just don't want to hear you're driving trucks for the Army on the Afghan/Pak border.
I can see the appeal of driving trucks too. There's a type of freedom involved. But it's a freedom I'd want to give up when it becomes a job and my family isn't close by. Then it becomes work.
BTW, I liked the photo of you hanging around.

Thought of this about two minutes after signing off. How about a video of a day in the life of Rapunzel in 2011? Can't put on a t-shirt unless she wants to spend 10 minutes pulling her hair out - would look funny time-lapsed. Or trying to fit in a car with her up-do. Don't think it would work. Maybe even getting stuck in doorways. Shopping with hair in a tote bag, etc. Lots of possible comic scenes.
BTW, how much does/did your wig weigh?

Howdy. I'm back from a quick Thanksgiving vacation. I've been reading a few of your old posts and saw the new pictures. Are you in art, hair/fashion, or craft school? Have you already graduated? Amazing work all around on the costumes, crafts, and hair. You look like Rapunzel before the tragic cut, and afterward, and I hope in the sequel when her tears bring her hair back. Hey, if her tears can raise the dead they should be able to fix terribly cut hair.
Glad you like the t-shirt idea. After you pull all the hair out, put it up in a big bun, then step outside, come back in and say, "It's cold outside". Then try to put a sweatshirt on over your head. I expect it won't fit. Cut to you getting in your car, with the up-do, and when you sit upright the hair pushes down and blocks your vision. Another cute skit would be buying 100 hair products in the checkout line. Your hair could be in a backpack. Say, "My wallet is in my backpack." Pull off the sack, then pull out your hair searching for your wallet while zooming in on the shocked cashiers face. OK, it's a bit Candid Camera, but could be funny.
Hope you had a great Thanksgiving.
