Happy New Year, everyone! I apologize for not posting for months. I literally did not have the time to post since I was devoting all of my free time to working on Vash and Wolfwood. However, I managed to finish them in time for Daisho Con 2017, and my brother and I took home the Timeless Classic award in the contest!
Here are the pictures from our amazing photoshooot with YGKphotos! All the photos tuned out fabulous and I'm so glad we were able to squeeze in a photoshoot last minute.
These costumes have been quite a learning experience. The biggest challenge for me was my Vash wig since I haven't done a fully spiked wig before. I started with a Virginia in Fairy Blonde from Arda Wigs. I reversed the wefts and added extra, then proceeded to cut and spike it. I couldn't have done it without all the tutorials and advice from the Arda team! Even then, it took a lot of experimentation before the spikes worked. There definitely are a lot of things I would do differently on my next spiked wig! It was also the first time I incorporated tailoring techniques into full costumes, my first time making foam gun props, as well as the first time my brother has joined in on the costume making process.
There were some things that I had to cut corners on to finish the costumes on time, but overall I'm satisfied with how they turned out. I'm on winter break now, so I will be posting WIP photos from these costumes soon as well as progress for BotW Link.
