Well...that's how I handle hounds nowadays... them, or beefaloes. What? I named all my meat effigies, there's nothing wrong with that.

I either build my camp next to a pig village, or try to get a treeguard close to my camp. Bees work surprisingly well too ^^

Yep. You don't actually need meat. Just lead the hounds into their village and the pigs will do the rest. Unless it's about to get dark D:
