^_^ I wasn't expecting to get this done tonight... When I had this idea I just thought "I've got to do this!" Well... I guess I've wanted to try drawing water frozen in time for a while, but all the elements just seemed to come together for this today.I decided to try to paint this; it seemed to fit the style that I wanted to get, and I really need the practise. So I ended up using watercolours (and normal, ordinary ball point pen (NO SMUDGING!
So happy!)). I'm really happy with how the water turned out.And the story in the picture? All I really decided was that the boy and girl are siblings... ^_^ Feel free to use your imagination.

I'm curious (because I can't tell)--did you save your whites or use white paint? Or both? Either way, the effect is really awesome.

Thanks! For the white, some of it was saved, but mostly it was painted on afterwards to get the foamy effects.

This so reminds me of the game Guild Wars. In it's latest chapter, Factions, the local bay was turned into jade by a curse, so when you go there the waves and surf are standing still. It's very impressive in motion, and this image captures that awe of the waves just being frozen in place. Nice work.
