I actually finished this, oh, three weeks ago?
The buyer took a while to get the money together. His character is a drow... I think the most challenging this about this picture was trying to make a character with dark skin, dark clothes, dark weaponry in a dark cave be *visable*. *laughs* The background was kinda fun, I'm still not happy with the fire though.

hey risa, long time. was kinda down in the dumps when your site went down. my computer ended up crashing and i lost this pic.... decided to do a last ditch effort on google and yay you uploaded it ^_^
im kinda shocked you didnt upload kiku the sayian and the supreme west kai.
I'm the person that commisioned this from you if you forgot heh heh ^_^. it was worth every penny. even if it was only a pic of my character for a D&D campaign.

Hee :nods: I like the picture and you're right - drawing a dark figure in a dark scene while maintaing enough visibility for detail to be discernible is both fun and challenging. I think the strangest thing about the fire - mostly concerning the torch on the right - is how it lloks fuzzy, sorta like a fox tail brush, ne? Anywho, me likes, pic great, money even better, so me go now.

I actually love doing fire, so maybe I could help - I think what it is is the shape - your fire is a bit too "hairy" - that is, it should have a certain shape to it... Light a candle or a match and watch the shape that the flame takes, and you should see what I mean... its a bit hard to explain. But anyway, fantastic piece, and you brought about this dark character very very well!!

hehe I really like this. The fire does look a little off, but that's the only thing that anyone could fault about this picture. The dark colours all work so well and the pose looks great!

Excellent drawing, be careful with his legs though, they seem a bit short comparing with the arms. His eyes are very cool they fit wonderfully in this style, the coloring is amazingly awesome! Nice job!!

I just used Photoshop ^^ It's probably easier to get a 'painted' look on Open Canvas or Painter, but I'm afraid I don't have a copy of either at the moment to experiment with.
