Description Nathaniel had trouble sleeping that night. The house felt different, empty, desolate. Exhausted as he was from such a sleepless night, he still had the self-discipline to rise and begin his work in the study. After several hours alone, he began to wonder why Wren hadn’t joined him for her next lesson.
He got up from his wooden chair and made his way toward Wren’s room. She was still sleeping. Nathaniel bent down and whispered into her ear.
“Wren,” he said. “Wake up, sweetheart.” Wren opened her eyes, yawned and stretched. Then she suddenly came to realization and bolted right up.
“Nate,” she asked, “what time is it?”
“It’s noon, my dear,” replied with a grin.
“Damn it! I’m so sorry Nate. I didn’t mean to keep you waiting.” She was pacing. Slowly, Nathaniel’s smile turned into a brooding frown, and concern spread throughout his face.
“Wren, hat have you been doing?” She snapped up to look at him.
“What?” She tried to look confused, realizing in fact that he hadn’t read her mind the night before. “Doing? What are you talking about?” Nathaniel shook his head and started toward her. She backed away.
“You cannot hide anything from me, Wren. Remember that. I know when you’re lying.”
“No!” she screamed at him. “Why can’t you just leave me be! You never let me do anything I want to do. You keep me locked inside this…this place, and I never get any taste of freedom. You just want to keep me for yourself as your…your darling little keepsake.”
“Wren, you know that’s not true—“
“Shut up, I’m not finished. I’ve got news for you, Nate: I will be your obedient little lapdog no more! I’m through with you stupid ideas and your lies! I’m through with you!” With that, Wren shot through the window and took to the sky.
Nathaniel simply stood there, staring out the window.
“You know that’s not true,” he whispered. “You’ll come back, child.” He turned and walked back to his study. “You just need time to cool off. I know this is frustrating and hard for you, but I know you’ll come back.”

Grrrr! For some reason this wasn't on my "recent deviations" page. >:[

Wait a second? How come there are only 1-2 left??!?! This is like, the beginning of the story!!! I'm so confused.

Good, as always It was a little sort (substance wise), but still good. I wish we could have seen what Wren had done in the night, but oh well. Can't wait for the next one though

lawl, Nate is too much fun

It's almost over because the purpose of the story was show how she became. The actual villain Night Wren's adventures was just in the game. It was just a very long profile history on the video game character I created. You'll see later.

I know, stories tend to get choppy towards the end for me. Probably because I'm not as into it. I'm really trying to improve, but somehow it's inevitable. I might, however, add what she did in the night. I never actually thought about that, lol. I'll have to think of something. hehe. I have no idea what she could be doing, other that just flying around and exploring the city. But I'll try to think of ideas, I'll look for stuff and write it down.

Wait...what do you mean he's too much fun? I'm confused. o_O

Ooooh! Actually I think I remember you saying that earlier, lol.

Meaning Nate is so old and grumpy and wise and fun to read about, almost too much fun
