-----------

In the beginning, there was nothing, only darkness and ether. A bubble floated in this endless ocean of nothingness. In this bubble was a small, sleeping creature. It began to dream of stars and light and as it dreamt, the darkness began to stir. A great orb of earth rose from the nothingness, raising the creature in the bubble up towards the sky, now filled with the stars and the Milky Way. The creature stirred within the bubble, but did not wake, continuing to dream, now of plants and forests and creatures like itself. As plant life began to spring up around the bubble, a single droplet of water fell from the sky, popping the bubble and landing on the creature’s head. The creature opened its eyes and uttered a cry of surprise from the fresh, cool water that began to fall in droplets from the sky. It looked at the wonder and beauty that had sprung up around it and squeaked a delighted sound.

“Mew!”

In response, lightning raced between the clouds, striking at the ground and at the newly formed lakes and streams. Creatures began to stir in the water, in the forest, and in the ground. Lightning struck again, setting some dry brush alight. Creatures began to stir within the flames and leaped from the striking bolts. The wind began to blow, bringing creatures on wings through the skies. As the wind blew, a great chill formed, bringing forth ice and snow from the sky. From this arose more creatures. As the life sprang forth from Mew’s dream, it frolicked with its fellow creatures, delighting in that which it had made real.

As they frolicked in the chaos of nature, some strange creatures that had not sprung up from Mew’s dream came from beyond the horizon. They did not have any of the powers like the others, but had the gift of profound curiosity. With their intelligence and deft hands, they devised a way to harness the power of Mew’s dream through the fruits born of its trees. They caught some of Mew’s fellow creatures for their own purposes. Mew now became the curious one, wondering: what kind of creature would catch another? Why?

Mew appeared before the strange creatures as an apparition in a bubble, giggling and frolicking in the treetops. The strange creatures at first cowered, but then remembered their curiosity and tried to catch Mew. Mew thought this was very strange indeed! It felt that they were matched in the power of their curiosity, so Mew spoke to the hearts of the strange creatures without any words. It presented the strange creatures with a challenge: catch me if you can! If you do, I will satisfy your curiosity.

With that, Mew encased itself in another bubble, descended into the ocean, and went back to sleep. As Mew dreamt, its fellow creatures followed its lead. “Catch me if you can!” they challenged wordlessly. “And I might satisfy your curiosity!”

And so began humankind and Pokékind’s long and strange journey together.

Ooo! Really nice. Suggests that all things in creation are linked. I'm not very familiar with the art style you were emulating, but you seem to have taken something beautiful from it.
