time to play what i like to call magical girl bingo. what is each poster a reference to? it's kind of easy if you look at the logos file, but whatever.
This is how the PokéWood is relevant; Stella is a fan of the actress Mei White. Mei White does lots of magical girl protagonist roles, as well as the "Hero of Ideals" protag... Clover. (don't ask me questions about how there's a movie about clover's story less than two years after it actually happened. my answer will be "pokemon logic") Upon seeing that mentioned movie, Stella saw being a trainer as the chance to become a hero like she always wanted, so yeah. She kind of idolizes Clover... even though Movie!Clover is rather different from real Clover.

I don't remember having seen a Nuzlocke main character who's such a fangirl of anything before. Or one whose interests are strongly emphasized at all, for that matter. :'D
Stella is adorable and I'm honestly impressed by this original beginning.
But, oh yeah, kinda worried about the flash-forward in the first two pages.

I wanted to work the PokéWood in without it being so jarring like it is in the game because I really do like it, which is really how her fangirliness spawned. Though that then lead to a lot of pre-planning in regards to what she's a fan of. orz It probably won't get touched on as much as I'd like in-comic though maybe I'll do fun side-comics for it (and now that I've said that, I'll be wrong and it'll show up all over the place in-comic)
As for the flash-forward, well, the run's been finished so I do know the ending... take that as you will.

And yeah, it is, though I've finished out his name to Christopher cause "cristoph" just felt like it was like that just because character limits. Mei/Christopher are TOTALLY a celebrity couple in this verse (it's one of my otps lol)

Ahh, same here..I didn't stop reading it, but I didn't like the final arc (if you can call it that) much. Still, better than what the anime ended up doing.
I was actually wondering recently if the name Christoph was due to the character limit...though I only got the thought cuz I wanted to name my Squirtle "Shellshocker" but had to settle for "Shellshock" (which is still a fairly cool name)...
I'm not really into shippings, but Mei/Christopher is one of the few that I really actually like.

You made it sound like a movie made in under 2 years is pretty implausible. What I meant was, it might have been a documentary instead, as it would be a lot easier to make.

I know next to nothing about Sailor Moon and Magical Girls but all the work you put into the detail is definitely not going without being noticed.

I'd say you should take a look into any magical girl series that interests you (besides madoka, since at least for now the feel will be very different), but at the same time magical girls are very long :V

sailor moon essentially DEFINED magical girl series, you literally cannot find one without SOME similarities to it.
the one shown here is based more-so on pretty cure/precure though. the duo unit is like futari wa pretty cure/max heart/splash star, the mention of "heart eggs" are inspired by the "heart flowers" in heartcatch cure, the outfits and final boss scene are based on smile precure's, etc. etc.
