Although he is actually talking in this scene, he could be doing both ^^. This is another screenshot from the animated series, Gargoyles from 'MIA' which is episode 29 from season 2.

He just saved Goliath from getting hit by a fighter plane after Goliath used the Phoenix Gate to go back in time to London during WWII. After saving him, Griff is glad to see another 'ally' come and help in the war against the Nazis and could even tell right that Goliath was not only not native to England but was of Scottish roots which you have to admit is quite impressive.

Goliath of course was more than willing to help Griff as he had to stay close to Griff to find out what happened to him in order to prevent his 'death' and to save his friends in present time too. This was one very interesting episode with some 'timey-wimey' vibes to it making it all the more spectacular.
