I really wonder what Thorin would be like with his OWN kids ith how wonderful he is to his nephews.

I know right!!! Thorin has such a rough outer shell, and he lets very few people in, Fili and Kili are probably near the top of that short list.

I have this little headcanon where Thorin is a complete moody bastard until Dis forces him to take her newborn baby in his arms (Fili) and the little babe is just staring with his big blue eyes into Thorin's bodemless dark ones and something changes in our dark King under the Mountain. And his love for his sister-son increases when the second one is born and they are like two peas in a pot. (Maybe it reminds him a bit of himself, Frerin and Dis.) And I think even Thorin cannot laugh at Fili and Kili's antics and cuteness.
Just a little headcanon. And I think Fili and Kili are on the top of the list. Seeing as they are his heirs and he has helped raise them as his own.

Just one thing, though - according to the DΓΊrin family tree, KΓli's supposed to be five years younger than FΓli. In your drawing, they look pretty much the same age

So I'm not the only one who thinks Thorin would be a total mommy to his nephews while they were still little! He would teach them to braid their hair, and play games, and give them piggy-back rides. He would probably get more serious as they got older, though. I think the third Hobbit movie is going to emotionally destroy a very large part of this fandom (I for one will be left sobbing like a baby).
Oh well, I did mean to have Kili look younger, but I guess I kind messed up there.
