being an absolute nork, i forgot to take a decent photo after finishing this and clearing up the smudged paintedness.my art teachers made me sit down and have a long talk about this with them... eventually leading up to the direct question "what is this about?", which of course i could not reply to. they then suggested, could "suicide" be my theme possibly? eek.
acrylics, string, and lots and LOTS of spraypaint.

One of the best pieces of work i've seen on DA in a while. Fully deserving of a DD if anyone ever notices it.
The colours are great, so cold and stark. And the draughtsmanship that shows in the figure and those legs (and feet!!!) is incredible. so accurate, but still retaining a kind of energy or urgency that brings the picture alive.

lol @ teachers reactions. great aren't they. When i was in school they discussed wether i needed to see the Ed' Psych (educational psychologist) as i went through a phase of drawing dismembered bodies and other ghoulish articles. hehe.

I thought about axiety. The white figure in the back, that resebles a person hanging, could be like the desperation suffocating her, or something like that.

This is a severely haunting image! I could easily see suicide as a possible theme. But not nessesarily. If it has a theme or not is not so important to me. What is, is that it speaks directly to my heart. Good work!

very haunting as the person above says...tho it's very evocative of perhaps suicide, or suicidal thoughts at least, the girl's toes are curling like she's standing...not hanging, and almost like she's jut unsure or shy. it's clear it's all a bit upsetting for her, but i think i like the idea that the legs and feet are there as a secret little insight into what she's thinking, quite apart from her hand and face...on the other hand, you might not want all this in-depth rubbish! but it is a rather intriguing thing....oh yes, and extraordinarily well done with the tones on the body, it is most awe-ispiralling.

Best bit of work I've seen on DA for a long long time.
This piece kinda ...cuts into you. It's dark, and it's excellent. If you don't get 100% grades for your art project I will see to it myself that George and whoever else is hung, drawn and quartered. Good job with the spray paint - I haven't used it since GCSE, and I miss it so! 'Tis kinda tricky to get it to do what you want, but you've managed it perfectly.

This is technically beautiful, and intriguing... I could understand why people would think suicide. Especaily with the stark white legs that appear to be hanging. This image feels dark, and kind of stressful. One thing that is interesting to me is how her hand (which is really nice!) is digging into her arm, but her face, what i can see of it, seems relatively calm. Makes me think about the emotions we show outwardly and those that we keep hidden. The little bit of read from the birds is nice- is the string red as well?
I do feel this is dealing with death in some way. Not nesessarily suicide tho. To me, it's more of a death in the family, perhaps feeling conflicted in that she realizes it was time for that person to go, but the fact being it's hard to move on sometimes. Those birds seem like some kind of release, and they are tickling the feet of a soul, or at least an imagined soul.
