Description
This is sort of how these OC’s entered my brain. I hadn’t really thought up oc’s before, unless I needed some minor ones for fanfiction (like random village man #2). But these four just showed up with a whole lot of character and an interesting story (which still needs some hammering out).

Kyoko – Kyoko was born and raised in the Northern Water Temple. She was adopted by the Grand Sage Katara after her mother had passed away during Kyoko's birth. It didn't take long for Katara to realize that Kyoko was in fact the next avatar.

She was very curious and bright, even when she was young. She followed Katara around and learned all she could about water bending. Kyoko did have a habit of skipping lessons sometimes to rest in the Spirit Oasis. Katara was convinced that she had a closer connection to the spirit world because of it.

When Kyoko was 13 she told everyone that she knew she was the avatar. The council at first denied it, believing that she should be a bit older before she knew, but Katara told them "If she is mature enough to tell us that she is the avatar, she has already come to terms with it herself."

Thus Kyoko began learning the other elements. Her last element was fire, which she mastered with the help of the retired Fire Lord Zuko.

Now 16 she had finished her training of the elements and has begun learning about the avatar state from Katara

Naoki – Naoki (or Nao) is Katara’s granddaughter through her second son and his Earth Nation wife, their only child so far. She grew up in the Eastern Air Temple, where her father had decided to try and rebuild the Air Nomad culture from what Aang had written, and from what few remnants remained.

She has always revered Avatar Aang in an almost god like manner. Thus she decided to work hard to become just as good an Air Bender, and maintain as much of the old ways as she could.

At the age of 13 she had just about mastered Air Bending and even gone through the difficult procedure of getting the tattoos to prove it.

She is tough and not as care free as the Air Nomads of the past, something she blames on the Earth blood in her. She was very upset when Kyoko didn’t accept her to be her air bending teacher. Kyoko told her that although she was talented, she still had a lot to learn herself. Since then Nao has followed Kyoko around trying to prove herself to the new Avatar.

Yuudai – A poor scholar from the Earth Kingdom, he is quite intelligent and well versed in history and culture. He dreams of one day making enough money to attend the University of Ba Sing Se. He had made friends with Naoki when he was visiting the Eastern Air Temple, and therefore also ran into Kyoko. The three of them have been friend(ish) for a while now.

Kazuo – The seventeen year old randomly made friends with Kyoko while he was in port at the North Pole. Not much about him is known to the other three, save that his father is a wealthy lord from the Fire Nation. He owns a small boat, designed by himself and made from wood rather than metal (as most of the ships were by that time).

Whew! Okay there they are so far. There is a ton more to write about them though, I have a whole history and am not working through making a family chart for each as well. I have to say that it isn’t that easy!

The story I have in my head is quite long, but I wonder if I will ever get around to making something happen with it, or if it will remain my story alone forever… Ah well, time will tell!
