Weekly bird speedpaintingThis species is dear to me, because I am working with them since 2012 for my research into parrot behaviour and welfare. They are very clever and intriguing, and the birds are all so different from each other! However, Otto in particular is special to me, so I decided to draw him again (like this pencil drawing , both from the same photo reference).

Aviculturists have two recognized sub-species for African Greys:
The Congo African grey is by far the favorite of the two subspecies; it is larger and its feathers are more prominently scalloped, and it has a bright scarlet tail that reaches full coloring at maturity.

Oh, this awesome! I have a soft spot for grey parrots as well. My grandparents used to have a female called Acra and I have many fond memories of her. I really like their inquisitive natures - and you have managed to capture that in your work. Very well done!

Now there's a funny coincidence. I checked and she actually was was called Accra, named after Ghana's capital, since that is where she came from.
