This is a commission from AriaKaiCharacters: Frostbird (white she-cat), and Flurrykit (grey tabby tomkit)
Holy carp guys...I-I finally did it. This is the cursed commission that I tried to draw over 7 times. That's right. The 7th attempt also got deleted. This was the 8th. XD

Hi I'm just gonna give you a tip-
if you're shading with a color that's lighter than your base color (like what you're doing with a dark red on dark gray), then I suggest using the Multiply layer mode rather than the Normal layer mode. The Multiply layer brings down the luminescence(?) and the saturation enough to make the shadows look natural but also still with a tint of color :>

You did awesome River, this is super cute! Personally I think it would have been cuter if you drew Flurrykit without teeth, so inside his mouth you could see his tongue.
