Ability: Run Away or Guts (Hidden ability: Hustle)
Rattata have very strong jaws and teeth (The games keep calling its teeth fangs, but it clearly does not have fangs...Those are incisors.). It can easily destroy things by biting them. Its fangs are constantly growing, so it gnaws on many things to wear them down. Evolves into Raticate at level 20.

It also has very strong jaws and teeth. It maintains balance with its whiskers, and can swim easily with its webbed hind feet. (I remember reading somewhere that Raticate can bring down a 2-story building in five minutes with its teeth...Not a great housepet.)

Rattata was originally known as the Rat pokemon in Gen 1 & 2, but they changed it to mouse in Gen 3
