Description
The second American Electric Power Company switcher I saw on my last visit to the Virginia Museum of Transportation was AEPX 2 (or 02), a General Electric 85-ton center-cab diesel. Its new registry of VMTX 70 shows it is now owned by the museum itself rather than the National Railway Historical Society Roanoke chapter, which uses the reporting mark RNRH, and the red/orange paintjob resembles the colors of Virginia Tech, a large university in nearby Blacksburg.
