Description This (possibly live steam) model of London, Brighton and South Coast Railway (LB&SCR) Stroudley A1 Terrier 0-6-0 tank engine No. 55 Merton was built by Mr. R.A. Holder, who donated it to the Bluebell Railway museum at Sheffield Park Station.  The original locomotive was built in 1877 and named for a village in Surrey that is now part of southwestern London.  It was the last Terrier to be retired by the LB&SCR, going to the scrapheap in 1904.  Several more Terriers remained in service, with some going to small private railways or industrial owners, though most surviving terriers went to the Southern Railway after the 1923 Grouping, and then to British Railways after the 1923 nationalization.  Two surviving Terriers are preserved on the Bluebell Railway: No. 55 Stepney and No. 72 Fenchurch.

I see inner motion, so it's most likely live steam

and there are 10 preserved terriers

I meant specifically on the Bluebell Railway; I've heard about other Terriers on the Isle of Wight Steam Railway and in museums.  Also I just noticed the big fat wooden brake blocks; that's a lot of braking power on a small engine!

oh, the brakes aren't that good, these engine had to stop trains weighing over 8 times more, so they were later upgraded to iron
