Description
In Spain, the Dodge Power Wagon 4x4 pickup truck was sold as the Fargo Power Wagon. RENFE bought five WM300 Power Wagons in 1957 and had them converted to railroad inspection cars by Desquenne & Giral of France, which added a Perkins diesel engine and Michelin "pneurail" rubber traction tires on the steel wheels. The RENFE WM300s could also change to road wheels and could turn around on rails with hydraulic jacks. Under the Vía y Obras department, their main base was Cantillana, from which they supervised upgrades to the Lora del Río - Sevilla line in Andalucia, and the last Power Wagon was withdrawn from Section 17 in 1980 for donation to the Madrid Railway Museum.
