Description
Until the 324-meter Eiffel Tower was completed in 1889, the Cathedral of Notre Dame de Paris held the honor of the tallest building in the city thanks to the western façade's twin 69-meter white towers, which were built from 1220 to 1250. From the pictures I have seen of Notre-Dame after the 2019 fire, these towers seem to be intact thanks to their sturdy stone construction.
