Alright. This is going to be a critique, kay? I'm going to state that in no way is it a dig against your photos, or you as a photographer.

The first thing that gets me is your lighting. I think your lights are in the right spot (directionally), but the power needs to come down a bit. Are you in a small room? Because if you are, that really doesn't help. A flash unit is not your best friend in a small room-- You may have to add something to diffuse the light even more, from your softbox (A white sheet or something essentially see through -- transparent shower curtains also work). The shadows do look a tad harsh (the divide between light and dark being very defined, as opposed to transitional), and that's why I'm suggesting the drop in power, or more diffusion.

Posing looks okay, but as a tip, straight on usually works, especially if you ask a model to tilt their chin down. Or even just get them to sit on a chair or something. That way, they're still dead on, and looking pretty awesome. When photographing women for portraits, just watch the boobs and how they appear to camera, essentially.

Did you do any editing? I -think- I see some on the eyes of one of the models, but can't be sure.

Last question.. why 400 ISO?

You weren't even harsh!

Thanks for the feedback, though- I need someone to tell it like it is, someone who knows what they're talking about, and I know that deep down, you just really hate me and want to tear me down

It was all shot in the garage under Sim's house. The area's a bit bigger than a smallish car. I think this one was using my silver brolly, rather than the shoot through, which is why it's come out a bit harsher, I think. Once i get a job *sigh* I'm gonna get a couple of the adaptable double fold brollys they had on strobist a while back. Has a pop-off whatsit on the back to turn the transparent into reflective- and it's still got the diffuser bit on it so it's not as harsh.

I did mean to do some sitting shooting, but just never got around to it lol

This one had retouch work in LR, but nothing in 'shop. All of them are just LR edits. I've been too lazy to get into photoshop, to be honest.

RE: ISO? I think it was me trying to keep the batteries going. Neither flash was at full power, I think most of the time, key was about 1/4, and the blue fill on this was way down, but it's a yuongnuo and i don't know how the scale works. 3 lights were on

I find myself fine-tuning with the ISO a little- shutter is at 1/160 or 1/125 (the sync speed is 1/200, but i sometimes get shutter banding), i had to sit at between f/5.6 and f/8 for the quality and to kill the overhead fluro's (i know, i should've had them off, but it was dark and i don't have modelling lights), and one of the flashes was on a boom overhead.

I also don't have a flash meter, and was chimping. I know my camera tends to show the reviews brighter than they turn out on PC, so i leaned toward over, rather than under exposing- I've had shots looking just right on the lcd, then lightroom shows a muddy dark mess. I might be getting a flash meter for my birthday
