Gotta give credit where credit is due, super inspired by this piece --> New way to trail ride and just had to try and draw Moran with that sketch-style over top. I failed repeatedly, finally learned something after drawing Brune(see previous submission) and then finally got somewhere here! This is my favorite of the series of 3, but I'll be working through the rest of the herd too! Guys, sometimes it's easy to forget that if you're sketches just keep flaking out, you are just that much closer to a win. You're getting closer to SOMETHING good. Also guys, just love on Moran's cute face, LOVE him.

Story Summary:
Moran's solo journey had been an interesting one. From the age of 2 he had been on his own with his half-brothers. They soon met up with an older bachelor band. The brothers had a blast mucking about with the guys. The 10+ guys just wanted to enjoy their days unscathed, the 4-8 yr olds were cutthroat to start a band, and the youngin's were just there to have fun(and have safety in numbers). Enjoying the scraps with band stallions and sparring on the daily with different opponents, Moran felt like he was in his element. Then when he saw his 4 yr old half brother, a year older gain his first mare, Moran felt something turn inside. It was time to grow up. Like a switch, Moran trained more than he played. He watched intently as brave stallions tried their luck with the band stallions, and Moran tried to learn from it. From the age of 3 to 5 was a lot of failures, pretty much all failures. But he learned incredibly. Soon he felt like he knew every horse in the area. Taking his chances on his own, he ventured further and further, finally passing all the familiar mountain ranges before he ended up here in this dusty lands. It wasn't long before he was rounded up and spent several days trapped in a pen. There he met an amazing champagne mare; Tallulah. He couldn't believe in love at first sight.. But they certainly had a connection. Something about her told him he needed to defend her with his life from here on out. Thankfully she was fond of him too. The horses were sorted several times and it seemed he'd spend the rest of his days in kicking matches with that dumb roan, but the door flew open and he and Tallulah saw open ranges again. It was a wild run and somehow he gained a second; Brune. He didn't know what to make of her timidity, he'd never met a filly like her back home. But he tried his best not to scare her off, because Tallulah didn't seem to mind leading the little grey. Tallulah naturally took to a leadership role, and the three did well. But the three quickly turned into four, then five and six. Kynlin was a geyser blast in the dead of night. She bounced off walls, and wired the herd up. Got on everyone's nerves but Tallulah felt it was wrong to leave a yearling on her own. Tallulah would come to regret her generousity because Kynlin was the annoying little sister Tallulah NEVER wanted. ---Pinya was an odd addition in the fact that Moran didn't necessarily invite her and didn't mind if she left. Moran's band was merely her harbor, so he thought. But Pinya was a kind soul and was helpful in Tallulah's pregnancy. Everyday Moran thought Pinya would say her goodbyes and leave with her colt in tow, but she never did. Then came Nya, Moran's new cherished belonging in life. He didn't know something could be delicate and tenacious. The love of his life.
