This was a commission/gift for a good friend of mine from here, Hidden-Wings.We BS all the time, giving each other grief when we can, lol. She made me a commission, just for fun, so I figured I would do the same, but with one exception. I wanted to totally floor her jaw, so I went all out.
This is the regular edition, soon to have a background. Her edition has a few extras, only for her.
This thing gave me a serious headache 2 days ago. After 8 hrs in Photoshop, just as I was about to put it on the background and wrap it up. Then PS crashed, and I lost it all, ran outta memory. So yesterday I saved every half hour, good thing too, cause right bout the same time it crashed again. I think it was cause I was doing everything in 300 dpi and I only have 1gb of RAM in this POS.
But, after all is said and done I'm very proud of this piece. Hope you enjoy.

Well I did like you said, except I inked it first, then scanned it. But, the way I got the lines so dark was I adjusted the contrast and brightness in photoshop, which made the whites, stark white and the blacks/darks darker. Hope that helps.

Whoo! Came out really nice. Don't really understand why you were talking about my stuff as if you can't draw at all. Good shading, nice and bright colours and cool details (the patterns on her skirt). Btw. did you add these digitally? Just out of curiosity ..
I'd say there's no need for you to hide. Nice work .. and a background will add even more to it. Thumbs up!

you have a different style with the pencils then me, i actually want to try and semi duplicate your style just to see if i can do it. Honestly you are better than me with em. you seem to have more control over em. besides man its a humble compliment. anyhow yeah i took the black designs and overlaid them in PS, saves alot of time and effort from drawing them. if you download the pic its alot bigger you can see the details in her bodice. those too were added digitally. if your interested i can show ya how to do it, that is if you don't already know how to.
Ireally do love your work, less and less ppl are using pencils anymore. its all going digi and I was impressed by your skills with them.

Even though it can work to combine digital and traditional stuff (and in your pic it DOES work alright, I think) I don't want to do that myself. But yes, this can certainly save you a lot of time ..
Less people using pencils .. that's right. And it's a shame .. but hey, digital bling-bling is soooo much cooler :/
Hiding? Hmm, seems like there's no such saying in English. In German, if I say "sich nicht hinter jemandem verstecken mΓΌssen" (not having to hide behind somebody) means that you're not worse than others, so you could as well show what you've got and don't need to hide that .. bah, hard to explain

I got ya man. I don't really feel as if i'm hiding behind ppl more like promoting ppl's work. I really kinda gave up on my work for a long time. So, I'm just enjoying a lil time with like minded folks. I don't expect to be famous or make any real money doing this. In fact if i do make any money i would be shocked. I'm here to just have fun and show off my stuff. So, don't feel as if I'm hiding, just giving others a lil more spotlight. Besides, it's not like i got em coming in droves. lol

Understood. Btw I don't think there's something wrong with earning some money with drawing. I'd love to be able to make a living from it. It just shouldn't be the main motivation. Because in such a case, if earning money becomes the main focus, then I think the art side suffers. But getting both things in balance is certainly a good thing .. well, my opinion. Nevermind ..

This is wonderful. I like how you steered away from Disney's version of "Alice"...this one has a much more modern appeal for our generation...I like how you make the chesire cats stripes match alices stockings corset....really pulled this piece together.

unfortunately i only have msn live windows whatever mssgr (hotmail)
but i can point out all the thing in the drawing and sent it to you fast as hell

Hmm... I have Skype and AIM, or I used to. Usually delete everything I don't need cuz my computer's already pretty slow...
I can try to look into that msn live one though real quick. Really like to know how you did this, just in the middle of cooking and don't wanna burn anything. 
Lemme try to find a download, that's not the Windows Messenger that comes with XP is it? I actually might not have been able to delete it.

just go to msn.com and there should be a link to DL it there. dont worry about the one that came with XP it wont or shouldn't cause issues. and im not sure but you might be able to use other email accounts other than a hotmail account, if not just make one up real quick. ill turn on mine now and stand by till you get back to me
