this piece, please leave a commentTaken at the Toronto Zoo. This shot of Maya and one of her cubs in 2007 is one of my favorite cheetah photos I've taken, if not my favorite.
For those who think Toronto Zoo should be shut down, I never get much of a response when I ask them how many cheetahs/Vancouver Island Marmots, etc they've bred and in the Black-Footed Ferret's case, released.

these animals wouldn't survive if they were released... I agree they should be wild buy the only way for people to care about the wild ones and learn about them is to have some that are captive. Β Most of us will never make it to africa *sigh*

I remember asking a few of the keepers and they said late March as the weather warms up. And those cubs must be pretty big too. I saw a photo of them when they were only a few days old. It was just on the digital camera screen of one of the keepers.

I may go sometime this coming week. For some reason, I'm really quite excited to finally see the arctic foxes. I've seen there enclosure improve over the last month or so. There's two giant glass panes to view them through which weren't originally there. I'll let you know if anything has changed.

Awesome! I'm really excited to see the foxes. I'd say the canids, felines, hyenas, bears and ungulates are my favorite at the zoo (in no particular order), though I enjoy everything. Well, maybe not the Black widow spiders so much
