Can it survive a hit from a Panzerfaust?

Could an M-7 Priest? Uses same basic chassis. As an SPG, I wouldn't expect it to be too heavily armored. Tho that would be a challenge for this guy, as it is not designed for the indirect fire of traditional artillery. I imagine the TEC is a line of sight type weapon. Nice to have the pulpit mounted .50 cal for backup.

Anyway, those legs always offer some added protection. Could swing them into position wherever taking the most fire to protect the hull. As usual, infantry support would be the best defense. This guy would need it.

Those Tesla coils probably not too invincible either. But it's good for an OTT weapon to have some vulnerability IMO to balance the scales (in terms of gameplay).

Thinking about this, keep in mind this about tanks and mechs of this low tech level, lack of vision. Tanks and even some aircraft limit the vision of the pilot/operator. Plus being half deaf due to engine and radio background noise add-on that of the din of battle.  So it will be rare that the vehicle can always block rocks with it legs.

fair point. That's one an advantage a taller anthro mech w/ a proper head would have.

best bet this guy would have for 'body awareness' is the commander keeping watch from the pulpit.

Sort of the ironic thing about tanks. Plenty of tank commanders bought the farm because they felt the advantage of commanding from half outside the tank.

Heck, even Patton was almost killed back in WWI because he literally walked behind a tank squad with his com setup in tow, so he could give legit orders. Probably saved lives. But clearly not a perfect system.

Interesting info.

How every, it depends how you build the optics to an anthro mech head, it still has a cone of vision so to say.

This is true too. In reality, an anthro mech of this context does not truly NEED an actual head per se. It could, in theory, get by with the usual vision periscopes and commanders copula of a normal tank. Inclusion of a proper head is largely an aesthetic choice, by me, and by extension, the fictional engineers. So it helps to justify it by saying that it provides superior sighting capabilities and optics compared to a normal tank, along with a suite of other sensorial extras.

Cone of vision does indeed still apply. But it has a slight advantage in terms of height, and the head's swiveling ability on the neck joint. Blind spots still exist, but they are less severe than a tank, and more akin to human -or giant human- vision.

Oh and speaking of Commander Cupola...Here's a Sherman with a prototype T121 commander cupola:
T121
Found it here:
Warthunder Reddit thread

There I found this Cool thing:
Porsche Type 205

The Site where it was Linked:
Porsche Unleashed

Sorry for the intrusion, but I just found them rather interesting.

OK, thanks for fixing that. Worked this time.

The dual .50cal Sherman copula is pretty awesome!

So is the double stacked Porsche. Pretty insane!

Of course, wondering how to implement these mech-wise. Could just do the Sherman as companion tank to  mech, or since engineering mechs usually forgo the head, could use one of these double MG copulas instead.

The double porche makes me think of stacking 2 antho mech hulls. Would maybe work best w/ a very flat heavy torso like the Pzf-VI Hagen (Tiger mech) or the Russian Proletarian. And use something slightly smaller on top, just for stability?  Or else go for a quad leg setup for a true monster. 4-legs w/ 4 arms! Gonna need a lot of crew to manage all those equipped weapons.

Yeah, giving me some fun ideas! Thanks, Slick!

BTW, I started watching some crazy Russian tank movie last night on Amazon -it was called "White Tiger" You might dig it. Lots of authentic hardware in there. Also, amazon had some crazy tank show that was like tank Olympics? Bizarre but interesting.

White Tiger huh? I think I've heard of that actually, never seen it though.

Yeah the Sherman variant that it's affixed to is a M4A3(105) HVSS. It has a...relatively detailed Warthunder Wiki page:
M4A3(105) HVSS

Though I'm not sure how Authentic that Twin turreted Porsche thing is...So take it with a grain of Salt.

Oh here's something interesting about a Japanese Super-Heavy Tank from Tank Encyclopedia, with some Great Citation Links for the Article:
O-I

Pretty ambition for the Imperial Japanese...No?

That Japanese Super heavy is pretty interesting. Like the Porsche, I'm sure it was just a pipe dream, but still fun to think about.

I think the general tank fetishism generated by WoT and WarThunder has done wonders for digging up these crazy obscure concepts and prototypes. I'm personally grateful for it.

A little less far fetched is this Japanese 'medium' here. Still no major production tho, i think; Type 5 Chi-Ri IJA medium tank

Oh~

An Allied Experimental 'Wireless Energy Transmitter'.

Cause you know their gonna have an unassuming code/project name for it.

Edit:
Like the origin of the name Tank or the Canal Defense Light.
