Description ALL vehicles and 3D modeling created by for OPDS. So please, head his way and let him know if you enjoy them.
I just did minor color tweaks and retouching + reformatted the original poster, because I wanted to show the mechs at a larger scale, w/ less negative space. Exhibit all them nifty details.

------------------

The Sonderkamplaufer (Sdklf) is very much like a legged equivalent of the SdKfz-251 halftrack family of German vehicles. A do-all workhorse that was very reliable and versatile as a platform for both weapons and logistical support duties.

These are all shown in a crouched position, just to conserve space, but when on the move, the SdKlf stands much taller as seen bottom right here: rob-cavanna.deviantart.com/art…
and left side here in night ops camo: rob-cavanna.deviantart.com/art…

-------------------

In addition to innovating the technology of legged armored vehicles, the 3rd Reich also pioneered a great variety of rockets and missiles, both guided and unguided. But many of these were introduced too late in the war to have significant impact on the inevitable outcome.

The Sdkfz, though not a heavily armored vehicle, was produced in great numbers and variations. Many were well suited to testing myriad new weapon systems, especially of the long-range variety, where heavy armor was not a priority. Those of the anti-armor variety, however, had enough offensive capability to punch well above their weight class -if only to employ 'hit and run' tactics.

Yup. www.militaryfactory.com/armor/…

They totally copied the Russian system. Though I seem to recall reading somewhere that captured Russian units were mounted to halftracks as well.

------------------

IKR? I was shocked to learn about that Wasserfall weapon. It was basically a V-2 that was modified to take down bombers. Didn't need as much fuel or such a large warhead to do that job, so it could be much smaller than a V-2. It was actually radio-controlled via line of sight! Using an actual joystick. (Did Nazis invent RL video games?). It was a similar system to that used on the Fritz X guided bomb.
