Sorry, but with it being about 7 years since I last even thought about this character, my memory has me at a loss...
Am I right in remembering that the original Kai didn't have the wierd blue triangles on his face? I just think I remember him being like your picture, and then a new series started and he had the paintings...

uhm no,Kai always had blue paintings on his face,but there's an episode(in the second series)where he doesn't wear them because he's at school.I drew him like he was in that episode^^
