There's something about the feel of a model that you don't quite get with CGI. Like TOS before rematering- Now I like the Remastering, but even though the old series what very limited in it's camera moves,it still gave the Enterprise an almost magestic feel the way she moved across the screen.

I know. You instantly see it is real object, whether it's obvious as a model, or not. I find it easier to emotionally invest in a real object, rather than a bunch of pixels, that I know aren't real.
Thanks,
Robert

I agree.
Models were done-in before their time.
The artistry and craftsmanship involved always made reading about the making of a movie more fascinating.
Thanks!
Robert.

Absolutely. Here is a link for my latest deviation, an homage to the first lady of starships.[link]
Soon, I will be building my Polar lights 1/350th scale model. I'm just afraid of the paint job I'm going to have to do.
Robert.

Fascinating. It's funny that I.L.M. has shut down their model department, when you can still see the merits of "real models" like this one.

Cgi is easier, you sit in a chair, and don't get your hands dirty.
Models are real, and gritty.
Love them!
Thanks!
Robert.
