Discovery One has always been my favorite of favorites ships. It's the one I always wanted to see a detailed model of (a la Product Enterprises' recent EAGLE line), and the one that first comes to mind when someone mentions "favorite" and "spaceship" in the same sentence.
This image just captures it perfectly; it's beauty, it's grace; it's mission. Would love to see this available as a print.

I wish I could accommodate you on the print request, but as it's a licensed property I don't think I can legally do that?

Certainly in my SF top 5. It's position in that category fluctuates day to day, but it's a major work and it's like hasn't been seen since.

Only gripe - the backdrop of stars.
Aside of that,....speechless, I am speechless

Why the gripe on the stars?
I've always been driven in this area by what the Apollo astronauts said about being on the lunar surface - that the skies always looked black in the photos, but when you looked up with the human eye you saw the starred sky as you've never seen it before.

I see...
It just looks like fabric if that makes sense.
Aside that - this is beautiful.
IF - IF they ever "redo" the film, this scene would be joy - imagine it in IMAX!

Hey, thanks! But I'm still just trying to come up with something HALF as cool as your 2001 Discovery/Jupiter/Pod image. That's an inspired classic, my friend!

Love the coloured fill light, subtle but very effective. Brilliant use of light and shadow as well.

39 years old. But he is not a completist in his movie watching, unlike me and other SF movie 'fans'. I was happy to show him and he did appreciate. But as we know, it takes a couple of viewings to love it.

Jupiter's cloud patterns are endlessly cool. Makes me wish I lived in a station orbiting it (with great windows and heavy duty radiation protection). I could lose myself in those clouds for hours!
