Description The Constellation II chases down the nucleus of a very suspicious comet.

Yeah, I'm guilty of "variations on a theme" here, but I really liked my comet image and wanted to use it in a composition where it could play a stronger role. The disorienting angle is my choice. I flipped it all around and this is the view that seemed to deliver the best impact to my eye-brain combo pack.

Updated Connie by Greywolf Starkiller. Rendered in DAZ Studio, further polluted in Photoshop.

Makes me thing of those little fanfares of music in the original series when we'd see the ship.

As for, being "guilty of variations on a theme", hey King of Nebulae here!

I'd dub you "KoN", but that's already taken by my bud wmconnors. So you'll have to settle for "Your Nebulosity".

Well... I did say it was a "suspicious comet"!

That is a REALLY convincing comet! It has all kinds of little areas of complexity and glare, looks very much like a comet's tails. The composition is very exciting and energetic, and your color palette is beautiful! Finally, I think backing out from the Connie gives a better sense of what's going on, allowing the viewer a bit more orientation and focus. Total winner!

Glad you like it. This is probably more of what was in my head when I approached "Chasing Tail" in my head, but once I got the model loaded and started moving my camera, I got seduced by Madkoifish's detail Hey, a little variety and visual experimentation never hurts!
