Description Playing around with FireAngel's "Fire Ghost" model. While it differs in a few areas from the YF-23, it evokes it plenty, so here's a vision of what could have been... sorta.

Thanks! I think it's mostly a non-air-breathing YF-23.

Cool! I love those sunset fly offs!
I served 4 years on an aircraft carrier, never a dull moment underway when your on a floating airport and lots of photo ops

I can imagine! Which carrier were you on? Were you deck crew, or down below?

USS Coral Sea CV-43. I worked as ships crew, deck Dept.
I had never even heard of the Coral Sea until I got orders to her and went home on pre deployment leave... then I saw her on the news. she and the America where paying a visit to Libia

She was the sister ship to the Midway, commissioned in 1943, hull #43, and was in service for a total of 43 years.. ironic? the crew thought so
Interestingly enough her hull was originally laid out to be a battle ship but by the time they had her finished up to the main deck they decided to make her an aircraft carrier. the benefit/result was that she had the larges magazine capacity of any aircraft carrier of her time and was bigger even than the Nimitz class ship in that area. We could bring a lot of bang bang to the party
