Description Cover to upcoming issue #20. The very cool thing about GI JOE is you are always changing locations. If gives me a chance to always be drawing new things and researching stuff to be accurate. This is just a plain jungle scene. But the next cover you'll see what I mean.

I didnt ink covers 20-22 due to time constraints. hence the fully rendered pencil stage.

Great job! I've never read GI Joe before, but props on accurately drawing the weapons! I spent 4 years in US Army Special Ops, and unlike most of the military (who use the typical M16), it's nice to see an accurate rendering of the M4 Carbine Rifle that's typically used to special forces. Of special note are the rail system and the extendable butt stock. Glad to see somebody takes the time to spend that much attention to detail! The rest of the piece is phenomenal, too.

Its always been important to me for my art to seem practical, even if it isnt photo realistic. I use reference to look at and try to make it as authentic as possible. Im detail oriented when I draw so gi joe is right up my alley.

thanks for the comments. Im glad there are people out there that pick up on the time and effort I put into this stuff!

Nice job! The placement of blacks balances out really nicely and the whole piece reads really well, even at a quick glance

thanks, its one of those covers that can be too busy real easily. I usually try to balance that out and leave enough room for the eye to breath and move around the page.

Yeah, it's a very tricky cover to pull off and I think you did a great job on it.

Awesome!

Your weapons have gotten better and better the more you work on Joe. Can't wait for some jungle action... seems like the perfect place for a certain new recruit...

For a second you had me lost on Dial Tone, but I forgot Jill took her brother Jack's place. Thanks for clearing things up. ^_^

Excellent work!

I can recognize Scarlett, but who are the other three Joes?

Also very good job you did on issue #20.

from left to right, Mainframe, Dialtone, Ripcord (upfront) and Scarett. Its kind of the who's who of characters that have been changed since the IDW run. If only Heavyduty/Roadblock were here. sigh.
